A Christmas Tradition: Reindeer Noses

It's become quite the tradition around here during Advent to make reindeer noses.
My mom made a version of these with pecans, but I thought it would be more fun to make with M&Ms, red and brown ones, specifically.

The kids start by unwrapping rolos. (Pay no mind to the kid on the right unwrapping peppermint kisses, that was another project)

We use a variety of pretzels, the square ones are best, but we had TONS of leftover Halloween ones one year and well, they worked perfectly.

Line up all the pretzels on a cookie sheet. This one is lined with a silpat, but you could use parchment or wax paper (you'll be putting them in the oven at a low temp)

Place your Rolos on top of each pretzel.

Look how little my munchkins are here. {heart melting}

And a nice close up of those halloween pretzels with a Rolo on top... can't tell they're pumpkins once the Rolo was on there!

Once each pretzel is topped with a Rolo, pop them in the oven at 200 for 5-7 minutes. You want the Rolo malleable but not a pile of goo.

Remove the pan from the oven and working quickly (many hands work well here), push an M&M into the center of the Rolo, preferably with the M-side down.

Place them in the fridge to set and you're ready to add them to cookie trays!

These freeze perfectly!
